The One-Minute Plank Challenge: Start Where You Are
Some seasons call for a big leap. Others begin with one small, faithful minute.
That is the heart behind this plank challenge: one minute a day. You do not need a perfect schedule, fancy equipment, or an advanced fitness level. You only need to start where you are and keep showing up.
Why a plank?
A plank may look simple, but it asks your whole body to work together. Your core braces, your shoulders support you, your back stays strong, and your glutes and quadriceps help hold your body in one steady line. It is a practical way to build strength in a short amount of time—even on a busy day.
Choose the version that works for you
You can plank on your knees or your toes. Both count. You can also divide the minute into smaller pieces:
• Six rounds of 10 seconds
• Three rounds of 20 seconds
• Two rounds of 30 seconds
• One full 60-second hold
Rest when you need to, then continue. The goal is consistency, not perfection.
Quick form check
Place your elbows or hands directly under your shoulders. Keep your back flat and your body in a long line. Brace your core as if you are preparing for a gentle punch, squeeze your glutes, engage your legs, and breathe. Try not to let your hips sink too low or rise too high.
If you feel sharp pain, dizziness, or anything beyond normal effort, stop and reset.
Your first-five-days check-in
As we begin, pay attention to more than the timer. Are you breathing more steadily? Does your position feel stronger? Can you hold good form a few seconds longer? Those small signs matter.
Movement is not punishment. It can be an act of stewardship—a way to thank God for the body you have while building strength for the life He has called you to live.
